Alumni Engagement

Your Alumni Network

As a University of Michigan School of Public Health student, you are immediately connected to your alumni network—a community of over 18,000 professionals living in all 50 states and more than 110 countries across the globe.

Alumni were once students like you and want to remain connected by providing support to their Michigan Public Health community. Throughout the year, students have the opportunity to meet alumni in and out of the classroom, with nearly 1,000 alumni mentoring students, visiting campus to recruit for position openings, and serving as career panelists and guest speakers. Michigan Public Health alumni are committed to your success and experience as a student. In 2019, over 1,000 alumni donated to the School of Public Health.

Donor support helps our faculty and students work to solve the greatest health problems affecting the world, and empowers their pursuit to create a healthier world for all. The Office of Development and Alumni Engagement connects donors to the students and faculty they support ensuring donors experience the impact of their gift through storytelling.

Mentorship & Networking

All University of Michigan School of Public Health students have access to Michigan Public Health Connect, the School of Public Health’s online mentorship and networking platform. Students can login to ask questions to alumni, seek advice and receive additional support. Michigan Public Health Connect provides a space to network with your University of Michigan community of public health allies and experts to receive guidance about everything from non-traditional career paths to support with reviewing your resume.

Throughout the year, alumni are invited to connect with their Michigan Public Health community through events hosted virtually, on campus and across the country. These events provide alumni with an opportunity to stay connected, to learn about the critical work happening across the School of Public Health as well as the valuable resources available to them.
