Sofia Ketels is a third year undergraduate at the School of Public Health studying Community and Global Public Health, with a minor in Biology. She is deeply interested in disparities in healthcare, especially relating to patient interactions with the U.S. healthcare system. Through this role, Sofia hopes to engage and amplify diverse undergraduate voices to improve equity in higher education. This past summer, Sofia worked as an intern at Trinity Health Livonia, where she worked to provide DEI education to physician and nurse residents. She believes that improving equity in education is one of the most important steps in improving health equity.
