The Southeast Michigan Center for Medical Education (SEMCME) is thrilled to announce Dr. Arnold S. Monto as the 2021 Allen Silbergleit, MD, PhD keynote speaker at the 43rd Annual Research Forum. Dr. Monto is an internationally renowned expert in infectious disease prevention and vaccine effectiveness. He most recently chaired the US Food and Drug Administration’s Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee (VRBPAC) that led to the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) of the Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna vaccines. Dr. Monto’s keynote address will focus on the impact of COVID-19 and he will give an update on where things stand with the vaccines.
