Connecting with and learning about the journey of alumni within public health can be an informative experience as you plan your path. If you are a prospective or admitted graduate student who is considering pursuing a degree within the field of public health, please join us for an Alumni Lightning Talk with Michael Manning!

This session will allow you to hear directly from Michigan Public Health alumni about their experiences as a student and career trajectories post-graduation.

Michael graduated from the School of public health with his MPH in Industrial Hygiene in 2017. While at SPH, Michael was involved in a number of activities, and served as the president of the Industrial Hygiene Student Association (UMIHSA), as a board member of the Student Assembly (PHSA) and a member of the Environmental Health Student Association. Michael also worked in the Richard Neitzel research group, analyzing historical occupational noise exposure data.

After graduation, Michael started his career at General Motors in Metro Detroit, where he has held multiple positions within the Occupational Safety group including safety representative, industrial hygienist, and most recently, data analyst. Outside of work, Michael is an active member of the Michigan Industrial Hygiene Society where he is currently serving as the President Elect.
