Research
Undergraduate students at the University of Michigan School of Public Health have the opportunity to explore the field of research while in the program. Faculty at Michigan Public Health participate in a wide range of research projects, exploring topics from infectious disease and cancer to racial health disparities and mental health.
Research is not a requirement of the public health program. However, current students will have access to the Michigan Public Health Careers Portal where research opportunities with School of Public Health faculty members are posted. These positions can be voluntary, paid, or for credit. Students can receive credit for research through an independent study course, PUBHLTH 479. In order to receive credit, the research must be supervised by a School of Public Health faculty member.
The Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program serves all undergraduate students within the university and creates partnerships between undergraduate students and researchers across the University of Michigan.
