Upali Nanda

Upali Nanda, PhD

  • Adjunct Professor, Health Management and Policy, School of Public Health

Dr. Upali Nanda is an Adjunct Professor of Health Management and Policy and Associate Professor of Practice at the Taubman School of Architecture and Urban Planning. She is also the Director of Research at HKS Inc, a global architectural firm. She received her Bachelor's degree in Architecture from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, M.A. from National University of Singapore, and PhD in Architecture from Texas A&M University.

Dr. Nanda's doctoral work on "Sensthetics" has been published as a book available on Amazon.com, and she has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and main stream media. Her award-winning research has been widely published and quoted. In 2015, Dr. Nanda was recognized as one of the top 10 most influential people in Healthcare Design by the Healthcare Design Magazine. Most recently, she was honored by Architectural Record with the 2018 Women in Architecture Innovator Award.
