Speaking up in the classroom can be challenging for a number of reasons, but the benefits of being able to do so are undeniable. Students that are able to speak up in class are not only provided participation points toward their grade, but are able to ensure they have a deeper understanding of the material and can be selected for important professional development opportunities. In this workshop, we will review different reasons why speaking up can be challenging as well as tips and resources that you can use to overcome barriers that may be preventing you from engaging in the classroom. This interdisciplinary series provides tools and strategies for academic success as a U-M student. Sessions are open to undergraduate and graduate students.
