What Can You Expect?

The Health Management and Policy Executive Master's program at the University of Michigan School of Public Health is a combination of distance learning and face-to-face interactions with professors and other Executive Master's students. The workload is fair and manageable, as the program is designed for working professionals so that they can engage in learning activities while balancing their careers and family life.

Twice a week, instructors create a live classroom experience through internet video conferencing. Students can interact with instructors and other classmates regardless of their geographic location. Additionally, some materials, such as taped lectures, can be viewed online or listened to via podcasts.

The Executive Master's program takes 20 months to complete. In addition to online lectures, students will attend 3 intensive three-day weekend sessions in Ann Arbor, MI. Sessions begin on Thursdays at 8:30 a.m. and end on Saturdays at 5:30 p.m.

Executive Master's Courses

Students in the Executive Master's program will be pre-registered for courses by their departmental student service representatives. Common courses include Health Policy, Biostatistics, Managerial Accounting for Health Care Administrators, and Operations Research and Control Systems. View a list of courses and descriptions.
