Herman “Hank” Koren, MPH ’59, credits having an “immense career” thanks to the generosity of Henry F. Vaughan, the inaugural dean of the University of Michigan School of Public Health. Koren is returning the favor Vaughan paid to him by creating the Dr. Herman “Hank” and Mrs. Donna Koren Helping Hands Expendable Fund.

Michigan Public Health will offer a new 2-year graduate program in Nutrition and Dietetics starting in fall 2023. To increase equity and access to a public health education, the University of Michigan School of Public Health has eliminated GRE test scores from application requirements for Master of Science (MS) applicants and has removed its application fee for Master of Public Health (MPH) and Master of Health Services Administration (MHSA) applicants.
